Our Story

Kurui Cottage is a stitching studio nestled in the foot hills of Cooroy Mountain in the Noosa Hinterland, and we look forward to sharing our beautiful space with you.

Hello! I am Diane and I welcome you to join me in your stitching journey, whether you are a total beginner, wanting to expand your skill base, or simply wanting to stitch uninterrupted alongside like-minded people.

I provide lessons, support and guidance either in your own space or in my stitching studio at Kurui Cottage, and I service the greater Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions.

Sewing is my Passion

I started sewing as soon as my feet could reach the treadle on Grandma's sewing machine. I still have her sewing machine on display in the studio, and it even contains the original receipt from the Singer Sewing Machine Company when she bought it in 1926!

As a result of enjoying showing others how to sew, I pursued a career as a Home Economics teacher.

I'd now love to share this creative passion with you!

I just love aprons!

Such practical, useful garments - not sure why they have fallen out of fashion - who could resist the convenience of wearing a super large pocket while doing their chores?
